Kinnari Satra: Advancing Geriatric and Neurological Rehabilitation

A speech-language pathologist and Certified Brain Injury Specialist, Satra works at the intersection of neurological rehabilitation, patient safety, and quality improvement. She evaluates and treats swallowing, communication, cognitive, and voice disorders associated with stroke, brain injury, dementia, and neurological disease.
Satra developed S.A.F.E., a framework for consistent geriatric rehabilitation practice: “screen early, assess comprehensively, intervene functionally across disciplines, then educate, evaluate, and evolve.” The framework organizes established practices through workflow, training, and quality improvement processes.
Her publications include Dementia and Communication Strategies in Advanced Stages: A Speech Language Pathologist’s Perspective (Discover Health Today, 2025) and Cognition and Communication in Aging (MedBound Times, 2024). She holds a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and an MBA in healthcare. Satra volunteers through ASHA’s mentoring program and co-hosts the Made in India SLP Podcast.
